Established when the property was first farmed for extra fine Merino wool in 1826, Milton Vineyard evolved into premium viticulture when Michael and Kerry Dunbabin purchased the farm in 1980, planting the first vines in the early 1990s. Today, the sprawling 1,800-hectare estate encompasses 25 hectares of meticulously tended vines grown on distinctive free-draining red loam liberally scattered with dolerite rocks—ideal conditions that create wines of remarkable character and depth.

In 2023, Milton Vineyard completed construction of its state-of-the-art onsite winery, marking an exciting milestone in the family’s winemaking journey. Under Head Winemaker Jacqui Dolan’s expertise, Milton has earned numerous accolades, including trophy wins at the Cowra Wine Show and Gold at the Tasmania Wine Show. The vineyard’s unwavering commitment to producing small quantities of handmade, 100% estate-grown wines ensures that every bottle reflects the family’s exacting attention to detail and passion for cool-climate excellence.
